The Great Commission

Upholding the call of The Great Commission drives our collective efforts to share God's love, spread the Gospel, meet the undecided, and make a positive impact in our local and global communities.

Our Beliefs

Here are seven fundamental beliefs of Hills Global Church

THE TRINITY

Affirming that God is one being existing eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19 (NIV): "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

2 Corinthians 13:14 (NIV): "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."

The Deity of Jesus Christ

The belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human, who came to earth, lived a sinless life, died for the sins of humanity, and was resurrected, offering salvation to believers.

Colossians 2:9 (NIV): "For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form."

John 1:14 (NIV): "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

Salvation by Grace through Faith

Salvation is a gift from God and is received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not by human efforts or merits.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV): "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."

Romans 3:22-24 (NIV): "This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."

The Importance of Prayer and Communal Worship

The significance of prayer as a means of communication with God and communal worship as a way to express devotion, receive spiritual nourishment, and build fellowship within the church community

Matthew 18:20 (NIV): "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."

Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV): "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

The Authority of the Bible

Regard for the Bible as the inspired and authoritative Word of God, abiding by its teachings and guidance for our faith journey.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV): "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Psalm 119:105 (NIV): "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."

The Resurrection

The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, signifying victory over sin and death, and affirm the belief in a future resurrection for believers.

1 Corinthians 15:20-22 (NIV): "But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive."

Romans 6:4 (NIV): "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."

The Second Coming of Christ

Anticipating the second coming of Jesus Christ, when He will return to judge the living and the dead and establish God's kingdom in its fullness.

Acts 1:11 (NIV): "Why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."

Revelation 22:12 (NIV): "Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done."

Our Practices

Gather

"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."

—Hebrews 10:24-25

Worship

"Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!"

—Psalm 95:6

Generosity

"The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

—2 Corinthians 9:6-7

Study

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."

—2 Timothy 3:16-17

Sabbath

“Observe the Sabbath and keep it holy. You have six days in which to do your work, but the seventh day is a day of rest dedicated to me. On that day no one is to work”

—Exodus 20:8-10

Prayer

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

—Philippians 4:6-7

Service

“Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace”

—1 Peter 4:8-10

Fasting

“The kind of fasting I want is this: Remove the chains of oppression and the yoke of injustice, and let the oppressed go free. Share your food with the hungry and open your homes to the homeless poor. Give clothes to those who have nothing to wear, and do not refuse to help your own relatives.

“Then my favor will shine on you like the morning sun, and your wounds will be quickly healed. I will always be with you to save you; my presence will protect you on every side. When you pray, I will answer you. When you call to me, I will respond.”

—Isaiah 58:6-9

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth
